Western Australia: Charlene Lan

Charlene shares her experience as a youth growing up with Nichiren Buddhism in her life. Opening up about how an experience in her high-school years challenged her beliefs, it is through this that she was able to redetermine and lead the youth of Western Australia today.

Reflecting on her high-school experience:

Overcoming this struggle, I had a deeper appreciation for my teacher, deeper appreciation for learning - and also just opened my mind to what I am capable of as a young person. You don't actually understand that infinite capacity - you can say it - but actually feeling it is a whole different experience. And I discovered that through Buddhism and chanting.
