Matsuyo Hanson: Mother of Australian kosen-rufu

Matsuyo Hanson, also known as the Mother of Australian Kosen-rufu (coined by President Ikeda) was a pivotal figure in establishing the foundations of SGIA. Despite her limited English, Matsuyo poured her entire life into encouraging members across Australia in the early years of our movement, fulfilling the pledge she had made to President Ikeda for Australian Kosen-rufu. For many pioneer members as well as those who joined the organisation in the 1980s, Matsuyo’s warm-hearted smile and deep encouragement remain a powerful source of inspiration in their hearts.

The following guidance from President Daisaku Ikeda in September 1988, summed up the spirit of Matsuyo!
